A message from the Principal

Everyone should have the opportunity to get to know our wonderful world. LAAS has a strong international vocation, it is a small world that embraces our children. The didactic philosophy of the school offers students and teachers a precious tool to implement a unique teaching method, fueling curiosity as a tool for continuous learning and the desire for research, the search for knowledge.

LAAS is an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Primary Years Programme (Kindergarten to Grade 6).

Our Early Years, Elementary and Middle School are legally acknowledged by the Ufficio Scolastico Regionale per la Lombardia and by MIUR (Ministero dell’Istruzione, dell’Università della Ricerca) as Scuola Non Paritaria. We provide an international education for students aged from three to thirteen, from Kindergarten to Grade 9, with standards and values of the highest quality.

At LAAS we stress the importance of language learning in all classes. The language of instruction is English. Italian is supported from Transition and upward. Mandarin Chinese and Spanish (our third languages at the elementary level) are offered from Grade 1 to Grade 6. Latin is introduced in Grade 6 and continued into Grades 7 and 8 of the Middle School. Spanish is featured in Grades 7, 8 and 9.

Based on best practices found in educational programs worldwide, LAAS’ Early Years/ Elementary and Middle School curricula are distinctly international and the result of our research into grade-level expectations from across a wide range of English-speaking countries. Our curriculum supports international beliefs and values by emphasizing and promoting language development across the disciplines. We collaboratively design and align our work across lessons, grade levels and school programs.
